Masterson Method is an integrative form of bodywork that allows your horse to release tension throughout the body and in key junctions in the body that can affect an athlete's performance. Your MMCP works with the horse not on the horse to identify areas of the body holding tension and uses techniques to help the horse release that tension. For more information see MastersonMethod.com
A Masterson Method Certified Practitioner (MMCP) has gone through countless hours in a rigorous certification process including seminars, trainings, hours of hands on case studies on horses in all riding disciplines, anatomy study, mentoring and one on one coaching sessions and has passed a certification course. Your MMCP is trained to follow the responses of the horse during a bodywork session and tailor that session to what the horse needs on that day.
NO! Your MMCP is not a veterinarian and does not diagnose conditions or disease. If your horse needs veterinary care please first call your vet! Bodywork is not a substitute for veterinary care. If your horse is under the care of your veterinarian, please always obtain their approval before scheduling a bodywork session. Your MMCP can work with you and your veterinarian to keep your athlete performing at their best!
I travel throughout the Treasure Valley and surrounding areas. I am willing to travel beyond the greater Boise area for work on multiple horses in a single location to be cost effetive. Travel fees may be applicable.
Please call me at 859-462-0611 to book your appointment and discuss your horses current need for bodywork. Upon booking an appointment I will email you an intake form to get your horse's history that will need to be returned to me prior to my visit.
It is best if we have a quiet location free from distractions that your horse is comfortable in (stall, run, round pen) and any blankets removed and he has been cleaned up and fed prior to the session (a hungry horse finds it hard to focus on our work). He needs to be wearing a halter and lead.
The length of each session is dictated by the horse but a typical session will run 1.5 to 2 hours. Owners are welcome to be present but do not need to be once your horse and I begin the session.
It is recommended to give your horse time to adjust to how his body feels after a session. If he can be turned out to move about freely and give a day or two off from work after the session that is ideal.
This is dependent upon the individual horse and his work life. To keep performance athlete's at their best, regularly scheduled sessions during their working season are best.
Scheduling for July appointments. Give your equine partner a Masterson Method session today!
